This event caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

This legal action stems from an investigation into an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A young child was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
