While audience feedback for Peacemaker the latest season has been mostly positive, with viewers and reviewers applauding the acting and storyline—even if the major revelation in episode 7 wasn't exactly a surprise—a particular criticism has only grown stronger throughout the season: dwindling runtime lengths.

Over the past few episodes, audience members have voiced frustration over the significantly reduced episode lengths this season, and it's true, the episodes have been progressively briefer. The seventh episode, titled “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (excluding the recap, opening credits, and closing credits), making it the shortest episode so far.

Series creator and DCU boss Gunn stated on Threads, replying to a viewer's concern.

Although this is encouraging, it remains unclear what portion of the runtime will be brand-new content, free from intro and outro segments, or recaps of previous events. However, should the finale contains all the previously mentioned non-essential content, that would still allow for between 45 and 50 minutes for the finale, which is a big upgrade after episode 7.

The director earlier hinted that the last episode would not only conclude Peacemaker but also provide clues regarding the future the broader DC Universe at large will be moving and act as a prequel of sorts for the upcoming Man of Tomorrow film. Given the brief appearance of Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor from episode 6, many are anticipating a juicy cameo to conclude the series.

Peacemaker's finale, the eighth episode, is titled "The Full Nelson," and audiences must wait to see if fans' suspicions are confirmed.
