British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
